Building advice

Hi there, I am new to this forum and was looking to find where building tips and information is located? I have an mp5RS kit I snagged from RTG on black friday that I am finally looking around to get building. Also if anyone knows of any good videos on building MP5s any suggestions would be appreciated. I have built a dozen AKs and figured it was time to step into the HK world.

Who makes the best G36 bolt head? Is the HK factory bolt head the only way to go or do some of the various G36 clone parts makers possibly manufacture even better bolt using more modern technology????

This has been on my bucket list for years. Not like a burning desire but I figured if one fell in my lap, I'd hold on to it. This one turned up locally. It's been a shooter and the presentation box has seen better days, but the 9mm kurz kit looks unused and the .22lr barrel appears pristine. The gold plating is not as new and the slide looks like it has a slight skid mark in it. Probably could be buffed out. I'm not a mouse gun guy so I probably will let this one retire in the safe. I plan to keep my eye out for the .32 and .25 conversion kits. Cool gun though. all in all I think I did okay for 500.00ish.

**NOT MINE AND SELLER HAS ZERO FEEDBACK, BUYER BEWARE!!**
This seller also has a few other high dollar listings.

This P7M13 is listed as new with original box, 3 magazines, grips4u walnut grips, original grips, manual, scraper, and cleaning brush. Too good to be true, maybe. If this is legitimate the price ($2150) is right even is this is used and not "new".

SP5K bolt group.....not sure whether or not I’m crazy

I just had a tri-lug barrel installed on my SP5K, got it back yesterday. I reassembled it, and was pretty sure everything looked good. Then...

I noticed that with the bolt group in the forward position, dry firing works fine, but there’s definitely a looseness/rattling to the cocking tube that I never noticed before. Then I looked at the ejection window, and saw this....is this normal, or is the bolt supposed to go further forward? I’m not sure whether or not it’s stuck slightly out of battery, thus causing the cocking tube to rattle because it won’t go all the way forward - or if I’m being crazy and this is what the bolt group is supposed to look like.

I did also install the #28 locking piece in the bolt (so it will function properly suppressed), and I took it apart again to make sure I didn’t do anything obviously wrong.....maybe I did do something, I don’t know. I’m a little scared to shoot it just yet in case it’s stuck out of battery, or maybe I’m just paranoid.

Again, please excuse my ignorance - I’m really just getting acquainted with roller lock guns, but I know there are a lot of experienced pros on here.

PTR91 with HK Stock & Wide Foregrip ($580 Score)

Yesterday I went to a local gun shop of mine to pick up a rifle I ordered off gunbroker, that was listed as an FA91, but the pictures looked like questionably like a steel receiver. So, I bought it out of curiosity. I was promptly shipped a PTR that had an HK stock with heavy buffer, HK mag, and an HK wide foregrip (no bipod sadly). It was also listed as used, but as far as I could tell it looked like it had never been fired and just had the parts swapped out for HK. Paid $515 for the rifle, $35 for shipping, and $30 for the FFL transfer. Was this a good deal?

I have a P2000 that's DA/SA and a P2000sk with LEM trigger, I looked at the tutorials how to convert from a variant to LEM, and before I do I want to make sure that I can swap my DA/SA trigger w decocker to my P2000sk w LEM.
I want to make my SK a DA/SA and the P2k an LEM.
So all good for straight swap or do I need some parts?????

hello

I am new to this forum and to the G3 platform … I live in a state that heavily restricts guns so its a pain to acquire legal rifles like the G3 … I have recently bought a G3 sporter carbine .. it was assembled by federal arms .. model from them is FA91 … my point to all this is that it has a silencer style flash suppresser on end of barrel and I have looked high and low and can not find any info on this configuration .. I have verified all the parts (bolt, Tigger group, mags, sights) are H n K parts but this barrel attachment is a odd piece from my research so I figured I reach out to you guys with way more knowledge then me for some help.. the barrel might not be a h n k barrel I fear

USP Compact .40 vs. HK45C

$

Fellas,

I recently picked up a like-new USP Compact in .40 S&W for a very good price as a larger alternative to my Kahr PM40 carry gun.

It’s a fantastic gun with the one exception being the size of the grip, I have L/XL size hands and I find the grip circumference to be just a touch on the small side.

I can still shoot the gun quite well and I don’t plan to get rid of it, it’s still a top-notch combat .40 cal, but I can’t help but wonder if the HK45C would be a bit better in terms of the grip fitting my hand and would allow me to shoot it better and extend my effective range.

Right now I’m getting to an outer limit of approximately 20 yards for my ability to keep all shots in an 8” circle with quick defensive-scenario firing.

This is only a bit better than I can do with the PM40, my max range for that gun is about 12 to 15 yards.

Do you guys believe that the HK45C has a grip that’s a bit bigger and a trigger reach that’s a bit longer than the USP Compact .40/9mm? Is it more hand-filling?

I don’t really mind the loss in capacity and gain in size, the USP Compact isn’t exactly tiny anyway when compared to my PM40, what I’m looking for is a highly-durable carry gun that I can use effectively out to about 30 or 40 yards, the HK45C looks like it might fit the bill for those requirements.

Perhaps the best way to answer this would be to rent one, but I figured I’d ask you guys if you have some opinions based on similar situations of the USP Compact having a grip that’s just a bit too small.
