No pics or vid. But here is the story.
Took a Friend/fellow Sailor to the range today for his B-day. He's a Married just picked up 2nd class (E5) has two kids guy. He has a total of 5 guns, and they are nothing special (tight budget with a gun hating wife). He does have a FDE G19 Gen 3 which is nice, but it's his only pistol. I decided to introduce him to HK. I took the MARK 23 (we both cleaned house with that), USP 45 w/match trigger, both my HK45c's in FDE, my HK45T in Tan, and both of my P30's.
He liked all of them and it was a good day. He kept asking me how much a USP 45 was. I decided to shoot my P30's last. I'm also doing this 90 days on duty thing with the P30L. Anyway, I was shooting at various ranges with fast strings of 5 rounds. 4 center mass 1 head shot. Like a quick get off me drill. FOR THE FIRST TIME, never double stroked the trigger because of that forever slush reset. I was on the money every trigger pull. I don't know if it was because I knew I was being watched or what. I figured after shooting the MARK 23, the Match trigger, hell even the HK45's I'd suck with the P30. But I think all the trigger time with it has finally paid off. I have a new confidence/respect for this weapon, and my skills operating it. I think if I just shoot, instead of worrying about how many rounds to send, I get it perfect. It's when I think, "okay, 2 to the chest and 1 to the head" I have that short stroking the reset issue. It's more of a Use the Force Luke, kind of gun. All feel.
And I'm not a trigger slapper, so you can appreciate how this learning process has been for me. I have about 2500 rounds through the system now. I wasn't sure about these guns after buying them, loved everything but the trigger. But now, I'm smitten as a kitten in a mitten.
Jack Bauer will be proud. (insert random shooting scene from 24 while yelling "DAMMIT")
