After what seemed to be a very long wait, my SL8/G36KE SBR is finally home; exactly 10 months to the day from when I mailed off the Form 4.

I've never owned a SL8 before, but thanks to this site and those showing off their SL8/G36 conversions; I took the plunge on an AA-date coded G36KE-marked SL8-1 SBR with Hensoldt Dual Optic that I purchased on GunBroker from the great guys at TPM Outfitters back in May 2013. Dealer-to-dealer transfer took exactly 4 months; the Form 4 was immediately submitted on 19 Sep and it was received back last week (19 June).
I installed my Gemtech G5 suppressor and used some of my light-loaded 68gr HPBT/cannalure rounds that I use in my Colt M4LE (6933 & 6921) SBRs for suppressor use; these pulled in a fairly tight pattern as shown in this picture. I’ve since dialed the dual optic sight in on zero, but about all I can do is a 2” pattern on average with suppressor. I later used some full up 62gr (M855) rounds without the suppressor and that sure turned heads. ‘Put a good 250 rounds down the pipe with both 62gr & 68gr (all my reloads) and never had a FTF/FTE at all. Come to think about it, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone on this site complaining about FTF/FTE issues with these rifles…
Fun rifle for sure and it sure raised eyebrows and spawned some questions; nobody, including any of the range officers, had ever seen one before. I let a gentleman on the next bench to me fire off some rounds; all smiles...

I have a G36 receiver ‘stub’ and plan on sending this gun off to Tom Bostic near the end of July.
