I made a thread in the hkparts.net's supporting vendor forum and not surprisingly it was deleted because it wasn't praising them. Super lame that they choose to zap any customer service related threads and only keep threads up that will either make them money or give the false impression that they have the most stellar customer service in the industry. Anyways, I wanted to share my recent experience and get some feedback from you folks who have purchased the HDPS stock block B from them.
To make a long story short, the product description on their site is very misleading and I was surprised to find that it came with the old style take-down pin, which is made of a cross pin, washer, and sling ring. I thought I was getting the new style pin w/ machined sling eyelet.
Here is what the hkparts.net product description says:
"New latest production HDPS HK USC/UMP Stock Block "B" Type For Use With All HK UMP Factory Or US Made Folding Stocks. Each unit comes with the new push pin design. This is a required part for the HK USC-UMP style conversion. Each part is the latest US made HDPS production part available with the new scratch resistant coating & finish & latest generation upgrades."
Here's what Ed has on the HDPS website:
Stock Block "B" - $195.00 for finished USC to UMP stock block and screws. All new Block B's will have the long cross block steel screws with eyelet/flat thumb ends ready, the screws are parkerized and Teflon Molly coated in black
Granted, the picture on hkparts.net shows the old-style pin, but the description is clearly contradicting that and made me think that the picture simply had not been updated.
Even worse, I was PM'ed by one of their reps here (username HK4evr) and I was insulted by being asked if I had even read the product description on their site. This coming AFTER I went out of my way to copy and paste their own product description in the thread I created. Of course I read the damn product description...sheesh!
I responded to the PM by respectfully making my case and asking for a refund. Now it seems I am being ignored. So I go to their website and see that they charge a 20% restocking fee!
These guys are downright criminal in how they do business. The price gouging is one thing (can't hate on a capitalist), but the way they treat their customers is inexcusable.
Anyhow, my rant is over, but I'm curious to know if anyone else has purchased a stock block B from them and if so, did it meet your expectations or were you caught off guard like I was?
Looks like I'll be putting my new stock block up for sale in the Accessories forum and ordering a new version directly from HDPS. I'll take a much bigger hit if I try to return it to hkparts.net. Ugh.
