HK45c Convert to LEM or get rid of?

Ok, gentlemen, I have a question for you.

About a year ago I bought a HK45c v3 used FTF. When I took a look at it the chamber and bore looked great, trigger, mag release, and everything mechanical worked great. Then I took it out to the range a few days later and shot it. Lots of Fail-to-fires/light-strikes/ whatever you want to call them. I thought it was the ammo, cheap mil-surp stuff, so I tried Winchester, Remington, and Federal, but to no avail. Still had light strikes, and I don't mean the occasional, but every three or four rounds.

Then I recalled that the guy who sold it to me mentioned that he'd "improved" the double-action pull. At this point I figured I'd been had, and dropped the thing in my dresser drawer for 9 months. Recently it occurred to me that he probably messed with the springs, and if I could reset them to factory standard, I might solve the problem. Having heard everyone's praise for the LEM trigger, I've been thinking I might upgrade the pistol at the same time using that kit. Thing is, I don't want to throw good money after bad, and part of me just says to sell the thing, even if it is at a loss. What do you guys think?
