So I picked up a P9S Combat today from a fellow member. Great transaction on a parts gun (it was missing several parts from the slide), that I wanted for the sole purpose of abusing through repeated disassembly and assembly in order to keep my Armorer skills sharp. I certainly don't want to subject my excellent condition pistols to this work.
Even before I got it home, I could tell that something was not right with the receiver, as it would not consistently cock and fire. When I got it home and got it apart, I quickly found the culprit. As you hopefully can see in the second photo, the pull bar is broken (bottom of the two parts, top left portion). Specifically, the tooth on the pull bar is broken, preventing it from making proper contact with the trigger bar and disconnector. Though the P9S is a pretty robust pistol, this is a somewhat common issue.
This is just the kind of stuff I was looking forward to with this gun and I'm glad I've got the spare parts to correct it.
Maybe not how you guys like to spend your evening, but after the kids are in bed, this kind of stuff helps me unwind and keeps me sharp.
By the way, always looking for a beater P7M8, M13 or PSP as well.
